Office Questions

What type of cases do you handle?

  • We represent a broad range of clients. We handle all types of personal injury cases, criminal matters, and selectively represent clients for other serious personal, business, professional, and governmental matters. We evaluate each claim on a case-by-case basis.

Where are you located?

  • The firm’s Newport News office is located at 11747 Jefferson Ave. Suite 3-E Newport News, Virginia 23606 in the Old Point Professional Park. We are centrally located to all cities and counties comprising metropolitan southeastern Virginia. This includes, in part, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Hampton, York County, James City County, Gloucester County, Mathews County, Newport News, Surry, West Point, Suffolk, Smithfield, Isle of White County, New Kent County, and Williamsburg. What are your office hours?

  • Our normal office hours are 8:30 to 5:00 pm. Monday thru Friday. Our virtual office is open 24 hours a day everyday of the year. We have a 24-hour answering service for emergencies, with an attorney on call. Calls that cannot be assisted are answered in the morning the next day. Special appointments, home visits, and hospital visits and appointments outside of normal business hours are considered on a case-by-case basis. Firm holidays include New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Do you charge for the initial appointment?

  • There is no charge for an initial appointment for personal injury, criminal, traffic, and worker compensation matters.

What form of payment do you accept?

  • We accept master card, visa, cash, wire transfers, and checks. Depending on the location of your bank and schedule for your case, we may require a certified, cashiers check, or cash.

Do you require a legal agreement before becoming involved with a case?

  • Yes. To avoid any misunderstanding regarding fees, the scope of our service, and the terms and condition of our representation, we will not represent anyone without a written legal service agreement.

 Do you accept after hours telephone calls?

  • We have a 24-hour answering service for emergencies, with an attorney on call. Calls that cannot be assisted are answered in the morning the next day. Our telephone numbers are 1-757-595-8100 and 1-757-I-N-J-U-R-E-D.

Do you have internship programs?

  • We have an internship program for college and law students. Many of our students have continued on to   law schools and full time positions with our firm. For information, please contact personnel@larrykinglaw.com.

  • The Legal InfoLine is a free 24-hour community service provided for general information regarding a variety of legal subjects. You can listen to some audio on this site.
