Virginia's drug crime laws are explained in the Code of Virginia § 54.1-3401. We can help you with any of the following types of drug crimes:

One of the most frequently charged drug crimes is that of the illegal possession of a controlled substance. You can face serious penalties that are charged based on the amount and type of drug in question. Marijuana possession is the most basic drug crime in Virginia. Drug crimes of possession are covered under the Virginia State Criminal Code § 18.2-250.

Possession with Intent
Possession with intent is a drug crime that involves an individual who is found in possession of a large amount of drugs with other paraphernalia. If the defendant is found to be in possession of drugs with the intent to sell or distribute, the penalties are much more severe than just basic possession.

Manufacturing is a drug crime that is similar to cultivation. It is illegal to make or grow a controlled substance. When an individual produces a controlled substance without legal authorization or possesses chemicals that are used in the manufacture of a controlled substance, he or she can be found guilty of manufacturing.

Sale / Distribution
Selling refers to the exchange, gift, or barter of a drug. Distribution of an illegal drug means to deliver by administering or dispensing a controlled substance. Penalties vary depending on the type and amount of drug involved.
